Commonwealth Avenue behind the State Capitol in Harrisburg
Funds from this annual motorcycle ride sponsored by the Alliance of Bikes Aimed Toward Education (A.B.A.T.E.) benefits the Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monuments Project and the GBPA’s Daniel Lady Farm.
The ride begins on Commonwealth Avenue behind the State Capitol in Harrisburg. (GPS: N 40° 15' 54.23" W 76° 52' 55.07") Sign-up begins at 11:00 AM. Donation is $10 per person. After a brief program, the ride leaves Harrisburg promptly at 1:00 PM, arriving at Battlefield Harley-Davidson on Route 30 east of Gettysburg. A short ceremony follows the ride. Refreshments are sponsored by Battlefield Harley-Davidson. The "Ride Marshalls" this year is a special group of ladies in white vests, led by former state Rep. Teresa Forcier, known as the "Motor Maids."
