Here is your chance to own a piece of history by helping to preserve the Historic Daniel Lady Farm located at 986 Hanover Road in Gettysburg.
The Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association (GBPA) purchased this historic property in 1999 to preserve the pristine 140 plus acres.

• Located by Benner’s Run and Wolf’s Hill, the area was known for Underground Railroad activity. Before the Civil War, over a thousand runaway slaves escaped through Gettysburg.
• Union General Williams approached from the east, threatening the Confederate left flank. His presence created the extended “fish hook” of Meade’s defenses.
• Robert E. Lee was recorded as having stayed at the house on July 1, 1863.
• The famous “Stonewall” brigade, Jones’ brigade, “Maryland” Steuart’s brigade, Andrew’s artillery battalion were bivouacked here. Generals Ewell, Early and Johnson planned the cannonade of Culp’s and E Cemetery Hills on July 2.
• Noted site of a Confederate field hospital.

The Lady Farm has a rich history of the soldiers’ duty and sacrifice. Your generosity will honor their memory and be appreciated.
