Annual Dinner, Election & Raffles

The Annual Dinner was held on November 18, 2005 at the Dobbin House, Gettysburg with a record 80 in attendance. Troy Harman, Gettysburg National Military Park Ranger, was the guest speaker presenting some new theories on the Gettysburg Battle that also includes the Daniel Lady Farm. The Batchelder Award was presented to Sidney Kuhn, Land Conservance of Adams County, for her dedicated work on acquiring the easement of the farm. Bob Resig, who was unable to attend the dinner, received the Eisenhower Award for his volunteerism at a later time. Craig Caba, who had been an Honorary Board member, and Jay Prudy, member of the 88th PVI, were elected to the 2006 Board of Directors.

There were many wonderful silent auction items donated and secured by the enthusiastic guests. The following list is of the raffle items and the lucky winners:

GBPA wishes to congratulate all those who won the raffles and the silent auction things, and to thank those that donated any of the items.

This year's Annual Dinner will be on November 17, 2006 at the Dobbin House with a cash bar at 6 pm. dinner buffet at 7 pm, program and speaker to follow dinner. Election for the new members and the retention of current board members of the 2007 Board of Directors will be held along with the silent auction and raffle drawing. Charlie Zahm is providing the entertainment. Come join the fun. Please send your reservations and checks in by Nov. 10th. Cost is $30 per person.

A tour of the farm will be on November 19, 2006 at 10 a.m. If you are planning on attending, please call Kathi at 717 783-0411 to let us know how many will be coming. Reservations are not necessary, but would be appreciated.
